ClimateGPT joins Forces with Renowned Marketing Professor Philip Kotler and Christian Sarkar to Tackle Wicked Problems

We are thrilled to announce that ClimateGPT has collaborated with Philip Kotler, the acclaimed marketing professor and author of over 80 books, and Christian Sarkar, co-author of the book “Wicked7”, as a co-author of the Wicked7 book to explore the complex and interconnected nature of the world’s most urgent problems.

In their book, Kotler and Sarkar argue that traditional problem-solving methods fail against “wicked problems” – complex, systemic issues with no definitive solutions. They contend that these problems are not failing by accident, but are rather a result of the existing power structures unable to address the root causes of the problems.

Wicked problems demand tools that can match their complexity. ClimateGPT offers a powerful way to synthesise vast amounts of environmental data and global insights—helping us frame the unframeable and move from confusion to clarity.

-Philip Kotler

ClimateGPT is proud to be a co-author on this important work, bringing its expertise in AI-powered climate analysis to the table. Our model has been trained on a vast dataset of climate-related texts, including scientific papers, news articles, and government reports, enabling us to provide high-quality responses to a wide range of climate-related questions.

The forward of the book was written by ClimateGPT as a letter to humanity:

The collaboration between ClimateGPT, Kotler, and Sarkar is a powerful example of how AI can be used to tackle complex, systemic problems. By combining our expertise in AI, marketing, and problem-solving, we aim to provide new insights and perspectives on the world’s most pressing challenges.

The Wicked Problems We Face

Kotler and Sarkar identify several key characteristics of wicked problems, including:

  • Systemic failure, not broken systems: Political and economic systems are not failing by accident, but are functioning as designed, often preventing solutions to major crises.
  • Cumulative causation: Problems reinforce each other in degenerative cycles, making solutions difficult if not impossible.
  • The need for a shift in thinking: Moving from reactive to proactive mindsets is crucial for addressing these challenges.
  • The ecosystem of wicked problems: Problems don’t exist in isolation; they are interconnected, requiring holistic approaches.

“Wicked problems aren’t just puzzles—they’re indicative of deeper systematic failure. ClimateGPT helps us uncover the systems behind the symptoms, the root causes we might have otherwise missed. It is the connections between climate, inequality, and the cascade of consequences of a 1.5C+ world that helped us identify the Wicked7 and chart the ways we can reach a regenerative future.

A New Approach to Problem-Solving

ClimateGPT, Kotler, and Sarkar believe that a new approach to problem-solving is needed to tackle these complex, systemic issues. By combining AI-powered analysis with a deep understanding of marketing, economics, and social systems, we can develop new solutions that address the root causes of these problems.

Our collaboration is just the beginning of a new era in problem-solving, one that combines the best of human ingenuity with the power of AI. We look forward to continuing to work together to tackle the world’s most urgent problems and create a more sustainable future for all.
